He witnessed horrific scenes of dogs suffering needlessly and being brutally killed.
The activist knew he couldn’t just let the poor pooches suffer, so decided to invest a significant amount of money into buying the slaughterhouse.
Yan, who is from the Jilin province of China, owns a steel manufacturing business.
Amazingly, not only did Wang purchase the slaughterhouse, he established a shelter for stray dogs.
This commendable act took place a few years ago and has since saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs.
At present, over 200 dogs are cared for by the shelter. According to Yang, it’s a huge improvement, as it once housed over 1,000!
Thankfully, plenty of generous citizens have been able to offer the pups loving homes.
The story would be perfect except for one detail: Yang sacrificed his wealth to help all the dogs and won’t accept any donations.
What does he ask for instead?
“I do not accept monetary donations,” he said. “I only hope that kind-hearted people will be able to donate a few supplies to help build a home for these 200 dogs.”
We hope so, too.
