Dog Abuser Gets 99 Years in Prison For Animal Cruelty Charges

Thirty year-old Nick Pattersonwas sentenced to 99 years in prisonrecently afterhe pled guiltyto animal cruelty charges in Alabama. His disgusting actions included neglecting and starving purebred Border Collies on his grandparents’ property. A plea deal has been struck between Patterson and the prosecution, where he pleaded guilty to numerous counts of fraud, as well as nine abhorrent counts ofabuse of canines, reports the Alex City Outlook.

The Assistant District Attorney in charge of negotiating Patterson’s plea deal, Damon Lewis, spoke out about the case. He hopes that this sentence will “send a message” to local residents about the County’s zero tolerance stance on animal cruelty and abuse. He stated that “this has been an emotional case, and one that involved some of The worst animal abuse I have ever seen.
